Jim has been involved in the printing industry since he was a child. Since his father became owner of Log Books Unlimited in 1970, Jim figured that operating Log Books Unlimited alongside his father was the perfect opportunity.

Creation of #470 Engineers Log Book
Law states (TSSA, ABSA, RBQ etc.) that all boilers require a log book.
1977
Robert Barratt becomes sole owner
Government agencies start to recognize Log Books Unlimited and help to develop more log books in accordance with by-laws, codes and standards

Creation of #291 Fire Protection Log Book
